Chapter 8 Summary
Using HTML to make pages is supposedly easy. I actually got my first taste of HTML when I was in third or fourth grade. I did not do anything too big with HTML. I just looked at the source of a page for one of my schools via “Inspect” and mischievously edited it around. It was merely the text, and it was client-sided. I messed up the truancy penalty page and turned it into what happens when students habitually do not show up for good reason into incentive to not even be at school by encouraging pizza parties. I was never punished or the actions.
I know that I can use text editors to make HTML pages, but I find standard text editors like WordPad or Notepad to be highly inconvenient. On campus in the Mac computer lab, I use BBEdit or Adobe Dreamweaver as instructed to by my professor. Otherwise, I prefer to use Visual Studio Code if it is available. I might never try Dreamweaver on my laptop due to storage issues, but if push comes to shove, I will try to use Dreamweaver to finish the project!
